What Are The Key Ingredients In Provillus For Women?

The main ingredient in Provillus for Women is its FDA approved dosage of Minoxidil 2%. The men’s version contains a concentration of 5% for conditions such as male pattern baldness; however, it is important that a woman does NOT use Provillus for Men as it has ingredients which alter testosterone.

The following is a listing of active ingredients:

Minoxidil – Though how this drug promotes hair regeneration is not yet completely understood, Minoxidil is an antihypertensive vasodilator medication first used to treat high blood pressure. Physicians who prescribed this medication reported almost all patients treated with this blood pressure form of Minoxidil having experienced hair growth and darkening of the hair itself. A clinical trial conducted in 2005 by the Johnson and Johnson Corporation indicated that after 16 weeks of treatment with 5% Minoxidil, the participants treated with the solution as opposed to those given a placebo form showed improvement in hair growth.

Provillus For Women IngredientsBiotin – Though research, it was discovered that patients who suffered from hair loss issues showed symptoms of biotin deficiencies which have lead to hair regrowth companies to include this ingredient in their shampoos, creams and sprays. In combination with the clinical trials supporting evidence that biotin aids in 25% improvement in nail strength and nail growth, and keeping in mind that nails are considered a form of hardened hairs, this ingredient has been used widely in the use of products such as Provillus and Rogaine. Currently there have been no clinical trials used to support the effectiveness of botin in relation to hair loss alone but it is believed to have some effectiveness in patients with a deficiency of biotin.

Para-Amino Benzoic Acid – Para-Amino Benzoic Acid, or PABA, is most commonly found in sunscreen products. PABA breaks down proteins; helps form red blood cells and aids in synthesizing folic acid. While there are little to no evidence that anyone truly has a deficiency of this supplement it is often found in hair growth products due to its usefulness in treating skin disorders. Because skin houses follicles it is thought to be a supportive additive and some clinical trials have hinted that this ingredient while used alone will not regrow hair, it is a helpful aid that gives support to other ingredients making them more effective by prepping the skin for advanced treatment.

Totally blown away! I am 50 years old and have been losing my hair (in the top, front area the salons call the “apple” in women) for many years now. Most of it is back. It took about 5 months to see results, but it works great. My friends even noticed. My hair is even a bit wavy now. I love it. I have been using Provillus for 8 months now and have cut back to one topical application and 1 pill a day and it is still working.
